Word play

Its not the first time!!!
People always say... actions speak louder than words...
But I think words have its even louder times...
Or maybe i should say... the tone.

Lemme ask u...
Saw this little comparison in GX's blog...
Never mind and It's ok...
Which sounds nicer?
What if 2 words are used together? Never mind... Its ok.
Does it sound even better?

Different people will have many different thousands of views on the thousands of words available to use. Even the languages used may have different meanings... at least for me...

I can give another example easily...
But since its so overly common amongst my friends...
And in fact its so common that almost everyone uses it...
So I shant put it down...
But the thing lies in the sincerity...
I find the english version shld be better than the hokkien version ba.

Sometimes its stuffs like that and we end up offending the other party without knowing.
How true...

Anyway... here is a test i took and its... quite accurate...

The SEME or UKE Quiz

You scored as a The Breaker SEME

You are the most imaginative, helpful, and strong-hearted SEME out there. You can be quiet and helpful at the same time which is a rarity. You're good at listening to others and you don't deny their ideas. One thing you can't stand is seeing someone sad, crying, or otherwise unhappy. Those who think you're shy aren't always the most right but it's true you don't need to talk much unless you have something important to say. You would be paired with the Sorrowful UKE because everyone needs a shoulder to cry on and you're just the guy/gal for the job. It's best to avoid the Homicidal SEME but even if you do that it's easy for someone as calm and helpful as you to get mixed up in the schemes of the certain Devilish UKE. You are truly best placed with the Gentle SEME as a buddy. For my last info, I have to say that you really don't mind and will go with the flow - whatever your partner is into is fine by you but considering who you're best matched with I'd say that they'd be too scared to do anything out of the ordinary. Give them a little nudge to let 'em know it's alright, okay?

News

Interesting news I found on the net...

PARIS (AFP) - - Men tend to wind up with life partners who look like their mother, while a woman is lured to a partner who looks like her father, scientists reported on Wednesday.

Heterosexuals are deeply attracted to individuals whose faces are similar to that of their opposite-sex parent, they said, suggesting that this characteristic is rooted in an evolutionary drive.

A team led by Tamas Bereczkei at the University of Pecs in Hungary created a model of facial ratios -- width of jaw, distance between mouth and brow and so on -- comprising 14 facial zones.

They measured 312 Hungarian adults from 52 different families using this method. Each family included a couple, along with two sets of parents.

The researchers found a significant correlation in facial similarities between a woman's mate and her father, and also between a man's partner and his mother.

The team tested the model on faces that were randomly selected from the general population and repeated the experiment with a panel of judges, who also picked out the same pairings from randomly selected groups of photos.

Interestingly, men and women focused on different parts of the face when they home in on a potential mate, they found.

A man's lover and his mother tended to have similar fullness in the lips, width of mouth, as well as length and width of jaw.

But for women, the critical features were the distance between mouth and brow, the height of the face, distance between the eyes and the size of a man's nose.

The choices are driven less by psychology and socialisation and more by evolutionary pressures, suggests Bereczkei.

Too much genetic overlap -- as can happen with incest -- is an evolutionary no-no.

But seeking similar genetic traits "may confer individuals with additional adaptive advantages," he wrote.

It could increase the degree to which parents share genes with offspring, enhancing the genetic representation of future generations.

Finding similar partners might also help perpetuate genetic complexes that have evolved to adapt to a particular environment.

There may be an additional bonus, which probably has more to do with happiness than a genetic imperative.

"Human couples who are similar in physical and psychological characteristics are more likely to remain together than dissimilar partners, possibly leading to an increase in fertility," the study concludes.

The research appears in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. The Royal Society is Britain's de-facto academy of sciences.

For people who are attached!! Maybe you might want to look closely at ur friend... Does he or she look like ur parents? haha...

Scary Genki

Cant believe im still msn-ing non stop at this hour...
My conversation with my cousin ended a few min ago...
And I mentioned about my Genki experience...

Well... In this world, there are so many first times...
Genki was my first job outside family lines...
First job in the F&B industry too...
And it was also the first interview i went to, alone.

Still remember that time...
My sis contacted Genki and arranged a time for me...
I had totally no idea about the arrangement until my sis told me...
Its like... Tomorrow 3pm Forum Genki Interview.
Totally unprepared...

And still remember Andrea!!!
Initially planned to go with her but she could not make it.
Thus i ended up alone... So confused, so blur...
I dropped at least 30 missed calls for her.

Well... At least now i think that its a good learning experience...
Right?

So... There is nothing to be afraid of...
If i can pass this even worse experience, you can too! =)

Somehow after torturing myself with salt in my mouth 2 hours ago...
My ulcer does not seem to hurt as much now. Wooh! Numb liao...
Cant believe I had been applying salt e wrong way for so many years...
Until last night!

Just got to know something...
That a friend of mine is flying to Australia for studies next year.
And one more is flying to Germany in less than a week!! Sadded...
Current mood: Tired... Its almost 3am now!

Ouch

Cant believe I have 3 freaking ulcers in my mouth at 3 different parts. Upper lip, lower lip, and gums... =X First time on the upper lip... It feels so weird...

I dunno why am i so extremely prone to ulcers... A small injury from fish bones or a little cut from chips is enough to cause a ulcer... And all my ulcers will take at least 5 days to become less painful...

And my lips are red from peeling... So dryy....

Just returned from a haircut from Oops...
So many people said its a waste of money...
Because of NS...
But but but... Well... I want to!
and I also heard that the longer your hair is when you go in...
The more they will not allow your hair to be long in the future.
So??
After all, my hair is really long........................

My mouth is R0ttInG... Ouch!

Talking abt this Oops... Do you dare to go there? hehe...
But it is the best place for a haircut so far...

What is happening??

Mouth ulcers, feel hot easily, feverish, sleepy, dry lips...
Obvious signs of dehydration and heatiness...
Guess it got to do with Saturday...

Anyways...
Went celebrating my cousin's birthday on Saturday...
And my so called uber uber early birthday celebration...
Got a car-racing PC game as an even more uber uber uber belated birthday present. It is supposed to be from last year. Laughs...

Step into almost all the shopping centres around the city hall... Raffles City, Raffles Marketplace, Citilink, Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, Marina Square, Suntec City, Millenia Walk... Initially my motive is to grab my spects, shoes and phone... In the end I only got my new camera-less phone. I did not even bother to step into any of the spectacle shops!

Raffles City...
I was looking for a restaurant to lunch in that I always been to in the past. But it was closed down. Sadded...

Raffles Marketplace...
Food paradise manx!!! We had lunch in the Japanese place... I like their system!! Take card, go in, reserve ur own seat, go and order, pay after u eat. Something similar to the Megabites Cafe in SIM... Our parents called us to treat each other lunch... So we decided to get our own stuffs and pay for each others later. Who knows? We spent EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT... $12.71 (even that 1 cent there) Pah balance. Not bad not bad.

Citylink...
Walked through here to Esplanade. Nothing caught my attention in HMV though... and the mall is abnormally crowded...

Esplanade...
Walk through it to get to the flyer... And managed to catch abit of singing performance.

Flyer...
Wanted to sit on the flyer! TOOO EXXX!!! So we ended up walking loops in the garden while enjoying the snacks we got from 7-11... At least $15 worth of snacks total from both of us...

Marina Square...
Finally got the mood to really start looking for the thing im looking for. BUT! Despite the giant shopping centre, i found nothing... Rolls eyes... I found no Genki too! I think Genki had closed down entirely le... or is it? hmm...

Suntec City...
Spent the longest time there... Visited Comex... But I came out within a hour because of the crowds!! One phone caught my attention. Too bad it was a camera phone... Useless for army leh... =/ And because of the crowd, we have to walk in the rain to get to other parts of Suntec. Zzz... I cant even move in the crowd!! Thank goodness I did not follow the crowd to the Fountain of Wealth. If not i would have suffocated to death. I felt like a guppy in a gigantic tin of sardines... I got my phone in M1 shop instead. Now, after I got my phone, everywhere I go will trigger alarm. Zzz... Until one nice uncle from Carrefour helped me with it.

Stopped by Macdonalds for a drink.

And I saw a nice pair of shoes!!! The design is quite boyish but the cutting is rather small...
Me: Is this pair of shoes unisex?
Shopkeeper: Yea... Both guys and ladies can wear it too...
Me: Oh... So can I have a bigger pair?
Shopkeeper: Oh no.. This is because this pair only comes in ladies cutting...

DOT!!!

Back to Marina Square...
Walk around walk around... Got more snacks in Muji!!! Before we sat down somewhere to eat the cake my auntie had cut for me.

Millenia Walk...
Toilet Break lah!

Back to Suntec City...
Walk around walk around...

Back to Citylink...
Walk through here to MRT... It was almost 8pm and it is still rather crowded. In fact it was WORSE than before... OMG...

I had also got my cousin a present... Somehow the present she gave me is the same price as the book I bot her... Sort of double coincidence here...
So its sort of eat-all-day day on Saturday. No wonder y i m heaty now. _ _|||

And i even went to tiong last night.
Someone must be jealous... I guess?
